Honor Ride Series
Fairfax H.O.G. has a variety of ride options each year, many of which take advantage of Fairfax's geographic proximity to a multitude of interesting destinations and exciting excursions. In addition, due to its proximity to historical, traditional, and locations of American legacy, there are even more ways to put together exciting rides. At F.H.O.G., we purposely set out to visit many of this Americana throughout our riding season, but like to have fun with it. Each year, depending on how many honor rides are scheduled, there is a minimum required number of rides to participate in order to be awarded the below patch. That number is communicated to the Chapter members after the Ride Planning Meeting held each January.

Setting up a ride for the Honor Ride Series is very simple, as the only criteria that is required is that the ride involves visiting a location(s) that is generally considered one of American honor, heritage, or tradition. This may include sites of historical significance, such as battlefields, sites of honor, such as cemetaries, or sites of knowledge and learning, such as a presidential library. Below is a listing of general locations that would fit the critera for the Honor Ride Series, but it is not all-inclusive. Any ideas to add or questions on how to go about getting a ride approved for the Honor Ride Series can be directed to [email protected].
The Flagship Honor Rides are annual rides put on by F.H.O.G. which have effects beyond the Chapter. They are open to all riders, regardless of H.O.G. affiliation, and often bring out-of-state riders in. The flagships are scheduled for the same times each year, and are planned many months in advance.

The below table lists ideas of locations to visit as part of the Honor Ride Series. Some are more complex than others, such as limitations related to specific hours of operation, seasonal restrictions, or distance. However, each Boss Hog can define their own honor ride as they see fit. Creation of an honor ride is no different than the creation of any other ride (filling out of Activity Form and submitting to [email protected]). If interested in having your ride added to the Honor Ride Series, please reach out to [email protected].
