Director's Message

Hello Fairfax HOG Family,

It’s an honor to introduce myself as the new Director of the Fairfax HOG Chapter. My name is Tim Alexander, and I’ve been a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast with over 30 years of riding experience. Motorcycles have been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember, and being able to serve this amazing chapter in a leadership role is something I truly value.

My journey began in a small town in Iowa, where I first discovered the thrill and freedom of riding on two wheels. Growing up in a close-knit community taught me the importance of camaraderie, something I’ve found in abundance here at Fairfax HOG. I moved to Virginia in the 1990s, settling in Fredericksburg where I lived for over 20 years before moving to Herndon, where my wife Karen and I have called home for the past four years.

My involvement with Fairfax HOG has been a rewarding and memorable part of my riding journey. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of serving the chapter as Webmaster and more recently as Assistant Director. These roles have allowed me to connect with many of you and to help support the strong sense of community that makes this chapter so special.

In addition to my leadership roles, I’m also a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, honoring our nation’s heroes with dignity and respect. I proudly ride as a team member of the Patriot Drill Team, where I get to showcase precision riding and teamwork. One of my personal passions is competing at the expert level in motorcycle rodeos—there’s nothing quite like the challenge, focus, and fun of maneuvering through a tight course with skill and control.

As Director, my goal is to continue building on the foundation laid by those before me, while fostering an inclusive and engaging environment for all members. Whether you're a new rider or a seasoned road warrior, there’s a place for you here. I’m committed to promoting safe riding, organizing exciting events, and ensuring that every member feels welcomed and valued.

This chapter isn’t just about motorcycles—it’s about friendship, shared experiences, and the open road that brings us together. I encourage each of you to get involved, whether it's joining a group ride, attending a meeting, or volunteering for an event. Your participation is what keeps our chapter strong and vibrant.

Join us at one of our monthly Chapter meetings and learn more about our chapter family. Please come up to me and introduce yourself, as I would love to meet you and answer any questions you may have, and feel free to bring any of your riding friends. We typically meet on the evening of the 2nd Wednesday of each month at Patriot Harley Davidson in Fairfax, Virginia.
